Our RC Boating Site
2 years ago now John Suffered a stroke, prior to his stroke he was an active busy guy, post the stroke the easiest of tasks became a huge challenge, and one of these was coming to terms with the fact he couldn’t do all the things he used to.
In order to challenge him and give him focus his son bought him a Radio Controlled Sail boat.
Thankfully John recovered very well, and regained a lot of his movement, he was able to build and sail the ‘Kyosho Sea Wind’ within just a few short weeks.
John & his Son Gordon found an excellent club at Wicksteed Park in Kettering just a few miles from their home in Northampton, the club is a friendly group of like-minded enthusiasts that welcomed them into their club, soon Sunday mornings became sailing days.
The passion for the hobby took a hold on Gordon as well, and he purchased his first boat to sail with his father, opting for a powered option rather than sail.
The hobby being so addictive grew to include the wider family and soon John & Gordon's wives joined the Sunday sails, and bought along the grandson.
In little more than a year the family hobby has grown to include more than 30 boats between them, a mixture of kits, scratch builds, Power & Sail, this site is dedicated to the builds and boats.
